Lemosho Route – Climb Kilimanjaro on the Less Crowded Route

The Lemosho Route approaches the summit from the west, taking a minimum of seven days. It joins the Machame Route half-way, before Lava Tower. While this means it gets busier and busier into your hike, you won’t miss out on the Machame Route’s spectacular vistas, including the Dendrosenecio forest and the Barranco Wall.

As the Lemosho Route is longer than the traditional Machame and Marangu routes, it allows more time to acclimatize. Therefore, it also has a higher summit success rate.

Given its higher success rate, and that initially it has been less crowded than the traditional routes, this route has become more and more popular with climbers over the past years.
